HOT AND SOUR SOUP (Serves 8)

 

treated Nutrela flakes

1 cup

water

6 cups

corn flour mixed in ½ cup water

7 tbsp

Soya sauce

1 tbsp

Sugar

2 tsp

Vinegar

1 tsp

cooked corn

3 tbsp

shredded carrot

2 tbsp

Oil

  tsp

raw Nutrela flakes

corn flour mixed in half a cup of water

7 tbsp

pepper powder

½ tsp

sugar

3 tsp

monosodium glutamate (Aji-no-moto)

¾ tsp

bean sprouts

3 tbsp

mushroom pieces

3 tbsp

shredded bamboo shoots

1 tbsp

 

1.      Heat water, add treated Nutrela flakes

2.      Add corn flour (mixed with water)

3.      Add bean sprouts , corn and other vegetables sautéed in oil.

4.      Allow boiling, while stirring. Simmer over a low flame for about 3 minutes.

5.      Add the other ingredients and boil for a minute longer

6.      Serve hot, with the usual accompaniments for Chinese food, like chili Sauce, Chopped Chilies in vinegar, Soya Sauce, for further adjustments to individual tastes.
