CHOCOLATE WALNUT COOKIES (30 pieces)

¾ cup treated Nutrela flakes

½ sifted flour

½ cup ground sugar

¼ tsp. Salt

½ cup chopped walnut

½ cup raw Nutrela flakes

½ cup vanaspati

2 tbs. Sifted cocoa OR 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate

¼ tsp. Vanilla essence

 

1.      Treat the flakes according to instructions on the package

2.      With the dry-grinding blade of the mixer in the jar, cream vanaspati, till smooth and soft.

3.      Add ground sugar, cream till well absorbed – about half a minute.

4.      Remove mixture to a bowl, mix in flour, of too moist add a little more flour.

5.      Mix walnuts in to this mixture.

6.      With the fingers, drop about a tbsp. Full of dough, on to a greased tray, dusted with flour, at a distance of about 2-3 cm b/w each drop.

7.      Bake at 190O C for 12-15 minutes or till done.

8.      Cool on a tray and let mature for 4-5 hours stored in an air-tight container.
