NUTRELA NEWS:
Soya can lower
Heart disease
Incidence of coronary Heart
disease, currently the third largest killer in India, is set to increase
by a whopping 100 percent in males by 2015, a top cardiologist said,
adding soya protein with several beneficial bio-active compounds can
help lower the risk. "factors like lifestyle changes, lack of
exercise, stress, tobacco, and genetic predisposition to heart disease
are responsible for a rise in heart diseases in the country," head,
department of cardiology at the AIIMS, SC Manchanda said at a seminar on
soya protein. "With 9.77 million people in developing nations
suffering from coronary heart disease, as compared to 5.52 million
people in the developed countries, it is a myth that the burden of this
scourge is more on the developed world," Dr. Manchanda said.
